Driver (also known as “You Are the Wheelman” in North America) is an action-driving video game and the first entry in the Driver series. Developed by Reflections Interactive and published by GT Interactive, it was released for PlayStation on June 25, 1999. The game was later ported to Microsoft Windows on October 1, 1999, and to Classic Mac OS on December 12, 2000, by Abersoft Limited.

Inspired by movie car chases, Driver lets players navigate four real-life cities—Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York—while driving various vehicles. The story follows John Tanner, an undercover police officer who infiltrates a criminal syndicate to investigate their operations, only to uncover a plot by their leader to assassinate the President of the United States.

Upon release, the game was a commercial success and received positive reviews from critics. Ports for Microsoft Windows and Mac followed in 1999 and 2000, respectively. A remake for the Game Boy Color was developed by Crawfish Interactive and released by Infogrames in May 2000. Versions for iOS and Palm Pre, developed and published by Gameloft, were launched on December 8, 2009. The game was also re-released on the PlayStation Network on October 14, 2008. The success of Driver led to sequels, including Driver 2 in November 2000 and Driver 3 in June 2004.
